This site is a personal publication independent of my professional capacity at the Santa Fe New Mexican. Don't blame them for anything weird I might post here. As for The GourdsI loved 'em.
I was a little bit worried that they might not get a great reception if there were too many bluegrass purists in the audience. But the crowd seemed pretty impressed. I do get the impression that they were holding back some in their mainly acoustic set -- probably because of the audience.
Several people were disappointed that they didn't play "Gin and Juice. I didn't really care about that missing crowd-pleaser. My only disappointment is that they didn't do "Ants on the Melon. Besides, the prices aren't bad.
And if you look hard enough you can find a Gourds version of the Three's Company theme. Come and knock on their door Send As SMS. Stephen W. Comments: Post a Comment. Comments: I always thought Lubbock Lights was from the old 70's song.
Mac Davis? Glad to see Lubbock Lights in my rear view mirror, or something like that.
And, I was back there. No, I don't know why I remember this trivial stuff either. Better late than never, I suppose.

MMJ was an Oxford American pick several years ago. Now how long will it take you to find The Hold Steady? Just wait until you see them live. Glad to have you the believers Comments: I'm a moderate democrat, a profile that I shared recently with fellow members of a political focus group. We were asked at the end of the session who we believed paid for the focus group.
The general consensus was Heather Wilson based upon the type of questions being asked. Among the foci of the evening were our opinions on how vocal our representatives should be on the wire tapping. Needless to say, I wasn't surprised when Ms. Wilson quickly jumped to claim credit.

Comments: Steve, I almost always agree with your tastes musically. I read the Gourds review yesterday and went out and bought it. Great stuff. Gotta get the other one.
